NEURO-PROPRIOCEPTIVE TAPING
“ Neuro-proprioceptive taping, commonly known as kinesiology taping, is a non-invasive technique designed to support the body's natural healing processes without restricting movement. By gently lifting the skin, the tape can create space between tissue layers, improving circulation, reducing swelling, and relieving pressure on underlying tissues. This effect also stimulates proprioceptors, the sensory receptors that inform the nervous system about the body's position, movement, and alignment. This stimulation enhances neuromuscular coordination, posture, and overall body awareness, making taping a valuable tool in both rehabilitation and performance settings. By providing support, this technique can help increase the range of motion, reduce discomfort associated with various musculoskeletal issues, and much more. There are countless ways neuro-proprioceptive taping can help you. Together, we’ll find the approach that best suits your needs. In the section below, you will find the main reasons I integrate this method into sessions. If you're curious about how neuro-proprioceptive taping can benefit you, feel free to ask. I’ll be happy to walk you through it, and we can determine the most suitable application to address your needs and support your well-being! “ — Ambre Rose Gutierrez

Pain Relief
Taping can help reduce pressure on sensitive structures and interrupt pain signals through sensory stimulation of the skin and fascia.
It benefits chronic pain, nerve compression, or lingering discomfort following injury.

Proprioception and Neuromuscular Control
By stimulating proprioceptors (the sensory receptors that tell your brain where your body is in space), taping improves body awareness, posture, and alignment.
I use this method often with athletes to support motor control, especially during rehabilitation or performance optimization.

Muscle Facilitation and Inhibition
The direction and tension of the tape can be adjusted to either activate underused or weakened muscles or relax and desensitize overactive, tight ones.
This helps correct imbalances, restore smoother movement patterns, and gives the treatment a longer life span.

Ligament and Tendon Support
For irritated or overstressed areas, taping helps support tendons and ligaments by reducing tension while maintaining mobility.
This is useful for tendinitis, hypermobility, or joint instability.

Neurological Taping
In cases of nerve compression, like sciatica or thoracic outlet syndrome, taping can reduce local pressure along the nerve’s path, helping restore mobility and ease discomfort without adding tension to the area.

Postural Correction
Taping provides continuous, gentle feedback to encourage proper posture and alignment without restricting movement.
It’s an effective way to retrain poor habits and guide the body toward healthier positioning throughout the day.

Swelling and Inflammation
Taping gently lifts the skin to create space between tissue layers, improving lymphatic drainage and blood circulation.
This reduces swelling, inflammation, and fluid buildup after injury or overuse.
